(dated June 21,1998) Special thank you to Tish for this info!

SAGINAW, MICHIGAN: The city council dropped its 11-year-old breed-specific ordinance.
Officials will now rely on the generic state law.
The reason for the removal of the ordinace was that it could NOT be inforced.

  • Saginaws's Ordinance had required owners of 'pit bulls' to pay an annual fee of $10
  • keep them contained in fences
  • provide liability insurance worth $50,000
  • and provide photographs of their dog/s.

  • Folks, this may possibly be used as a reference to help combat various proposals...make a note of it!
