Subject: Immediate Banning of Pit Bulls Dogs in the United States
If elected to the United States Congress, I would introduce emergency legislation to ban the Pit Bulls dogs. These dogs, also know as the American Pit Bull Terriers, and American Staffordshire Terriers are being used by criminals to attack other dogs, as well as humans.
The Pit Bulls, that were originally bred for fighting, have enormous strength in their jaws. When they bite their victims, the Pit Bulls "lock onto" the victim, and will not let go.
Recently, in my own county (Montgomery County, Md.) a shelter worker was mauled by a Pit Bull that had already attacked a teenager, and the shelter worker was rush (by helicopter) to Baltimore, Md. to have his entire hand reattached. We cannot allow these brutal attacks to continue.
Citizens around the entire United States of America are being held hostages in their own homes by roaming, out of control, Pit Bulls. These dogs are the "favorite breed" of drug dealers and gang members, and we must ban the breed altogether, for everyone's safety. The existing laws in various counties and states -- are not effective.
I would to hear any input you may have concerning this issue.
