Italy attempts to make pit bulls disappear

On Friday, November 5th, the government of Italy approved a draft law which seeks to create a list of dogs considered dangerous. The Health Ministry states, "This race of dogs is prevalently used for its marked aptitude for guarding and protecting people, but also in dog fights. The sanctions ... aim to discourage the posession of these dogs and their relative crossbreeds." The sanctions proposed include the import, breeding, sale and transfer of pit bulls. The penalties range anyware from a fine to time in prison.

To help fight this ban ...
Here are some examples of letters and a copy of an excellent NON-breed-specific Dangerous Dog law that you can e-mail/snail-mail/fax/read to legislators.
