ROTT N CHATTER, November 1993, Volume 2 Number 3 THE CHATTER BOX Dear Jan, Here's my renewal fee for the Rott N Chatter. We've been so busy that I didn't realize a year has flown by already. Thanks so much for all your hard work and efforts. I get more useful information from the Chatter than publications that are ten times its size! Things are going great with our Rott N Family. I still have to pinch myself every day I look at our show male, he'll soon be eighteen months and just keeps getting better looking every day. I'll be putting a SchH I on him next spring and they tell me he'll be SchH III by the end of the summer with no problems. Then, it's back to the AKC confirmation ring. I recently took him to the Senior Care Unit at Laporte Community Hospital. From standing up on the receptionist's counter and demanding that the ladies pet him, to wiggling his stump so irresistibly every time a nurse walked by so they HAD to pet him, to completely soaking my 84 year old Grandmother's face with a good ol' Rottie kiss, he was fantastic. All this and he's actually at the 'worst' point in his life for socializing because he's at the point in his protection work where he's always number one and we've just begun introducing obedience in the bite work. I know every Rott owner thinks his/her pet is the best in the world, but I truly believe Titan's combination of drive and stability are rare. The really amazing thing about our hospital visit was seeing the effect the dogs have on the senior patients. A lot of these people couldn't tell you their own name correctly, but when their attention was focused on Titan, it was like their mind snapped back into total consciousness. I'm hoping to get more information on therapy work as I'm going to continue these visits at least once a month. Give our best to your family and your ROTT N KIDS! Mark Jackson of Calumet City, Illinois "Mark, 'atta way to go...I am pleased to know that you have remained so unbiased when it comes to Titan." jan EDITOR'S NOTE: The above delightful letter proves once again that our magnificent breed has the capability to be as diverse as necessary when in the hands of a responsible, proud and dedicated owner.
