ROTT N CHATTER, November 1992, Volume 1 Number 4 BEFORE FLYING YOUR ROTTIE.... The American Dog Owner's Association has a brochure available that give a lot of valuable information including rating the different airlines. I will list a few tips here. Try to see that your dog is loaded as late as possible and that he/she is not taken out and left sitting in the sun. Never tranquilize your dog as this can further slow oxygen intake which is already at a premium in the cargo hold. Use only safe airline approved crates to transport your dog in, ie., Vari-Kennel. There are numerous other tips available along with remarks regarding the individual airlines as mentioned above. I recommend you obtain a copy for your files. You never really know when something may come yp and you too will find yourself calling an airline to transport your Rottweiler.
