ROTT N CHATTER, September 1992, Volume 1 Number 2 WHY OUR ROTT N BREED IS SO SPECIAL Laurel Fendle of Tampa, FL., shares a few reasons why she finds her Luka special to her. "She looks me straight in the eye. I've never owned a dog that did that. She's not questioning my authority, she and I are just communicating. "She thinks. You can see her look off to the side and try to figure out a solution to whatever problem is at hand. "She is all love. She is not the Holy terror that the name Rottweiler evokes. However, don't be too rough with the children around her, or she will gently hold your arm in her mighty mouth and give you that 'Please don't' look. She seems to say, 'I know they are a pain, but if I have to be patient with them, you do too.' "She does anything the kids ask of her. They're not too young and have plenty of animal sense so they don't ever take advantage of her. It gives me pride to see her heeling/sitting/staying for a little child. I know that sometimes this is NOT her idea of fun. "And finally, THOSE SOULFUL BROWN EYES." (EDITOR: I think we all see a little of our own favorite Rott N Weilers in those words.)
